Future

My Paper Box is a personalized stationery business I built from the ground up. I design and produce custom notepads, greeting cards, and themed paper goods, and for several years I also ran a subscription box that delivered a new curated stationery set each month. Everything is designed and printed in-house, which gives me full creative control and the flexibility to respond quickly to trends. I’m now relaunching the business more intentionally while preparing to eventually merge it with a commercial print shop.

The Story
I started My Paper Box as a hobby while working at a print shop, and it grew much faster than I expected. I bought my own printer, launched in late 2018, and by mid-2019 I was running it full time.
By 2021, I had close to 500 subscribers. Then COVID shifted everything, and subscriber numbers steadily dropped. I went back to the print shop for extra income, and by 2023 I paused the subscription box for my mental health and to avoid burning out.
Now I’m ready to rebuild the right way—slowly, sustainably, and with proper structure. My long-term goal is to eventually take over the print shop I work at and combine it with My Paper Box to create one of Austin’s major print operations.
I’m using this time to set up the business correctly, plan for financing, and prepare for that future transition.
